Pound Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 lb butter (4 sticks, softened)
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 6 eggs (room temperature)
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Butter and flour cake pan (not included in ingredient list, no specific amount)
  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  3. Cream butter and margarine together.
  4. Introduce sugar and cream all together.
  5. Add one egg at a time.
  6. Alternate adding milk and flour.
  7. Add remaining ingredients.
  8. Pour into prepared cake pan and place into preheated oven.
  9. Bake for 1 1/2 hrs or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
